matter what type of party it is, office
party etiquette is extremely important. Let them know that the last thing
they want to do is damage their professional reputation. Remember, you and your fellow employees
will be in front of the boss and each other, so behave appropriately, even
if your boss doesn't!
Individually,
let your co-workers know that while this is a social affair and they are
meant to have fun, they need to behave appropriately and not do anything
that will effect one their position within the business where they work. They should never do anything
inappropriate or illegal. Offensive language by anyone should not be
tolerated.
Remember that although an
Halloween office party is a social event meant to reward employees and raise
morale, it is still a company function, so proper etiquette and decorum
should be followed. Co-workers should keep their hands to themselves and
avoid flirting.
If
alcohol is served at your Halloween Office party, be sure to keep a
very close eye
on the drinking and don't let it get out of hand.
Deal with problem drinkers
immediately, either by cutting them off or sending them
home, so they don't ruin the party for everyone else and
make you look bad in front of your boss. If
you believe that anyone is too intoxicated to drive
themselves home, see if anyone else is willing to drive
them home. If not you can either drive them home
yourself or call a cab. Never let anyone that
has been drinking drive.
Make
sure that the food, treats and beverages are restocked as needed. The
duration of the party is short and you don't want anyone leaving hungry.
If
you see anyone sitting alone or not having a good time, they may be shy. Go
over and see if you can help them relax with some kind words and simple
conversation. A couple of funny jokes can often break the spell.
Be
